Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities
+ Conduct brief psychological screening, assessment, and individual therapy with adult medical/surgical inpatients. Provide consultation and treatment on intensive care units (ICU's).Provide evidenced-based treatment to patients and families coping with acute, chronic, and life-threatening illness.
+ Provide behavioral pain management interventions to patients on medical and surgical inpatient units. Consult and collaborate with interprofessional team members to develop intervention strategies related to physical and psychosocial challenges. Assist with patient, unit, and staff relational dynamics, and provide recommendations to help in cases with challenging patient interactions.
+ Provide trauma-informed care to adults on medical/surgical units, and work with interprofessional teams to deliver trauma-informed interventions. Perform cognitive and psychological screening and testing when indicated.
+ Develop educational activities for interprofessional providers and staff on inpatient units in conjunction with psychiatry attendings on the CL service. Develop metrics and QI plans for C/L service in conjunction with psychiatry attendings on C/L service.
+ Conduct psychological evaluations with live organ donors when CL psychologists need to cover the Transplant Service. Evaluations includes interviews and appropriate testing to rule out contraindications for donation. Conduct psychological interviews and testing for potential organ recipients referred by transplant providers when CL psychologists need to cover the Transplant Service. Attend and participate in interprofessional Transplant selection committee meetings if covering this service.
+ Provide assessment to patients on inpatient medical/surgical units with histories of self-harm, addiction, mental health conditions, and prior trauma as well as individuals now at increased risk for depression, PTSD, and relational, financial, and other challenges.
+ Demonstrate competence in treatment of all patients, families, and colleagues with respect .

Psychologist - Consult Liaison - 37883 Faculty
The Department of Psychiatry collaborates closely with a broad range of clinical departments at the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) to provide integrated behavioral health care in primary and specialty medical settings. Our Department is committed to hiring a health or rehabilitation psychologist with competencies to provide interprofessional clinical services on the Consultation Liaison (CL) Service, University of Colorado Hospital (UCH). This position would provide CL services with a broad range of inpatient medical, surgical and ICU units. The psychologist in this role will also be a team member of the Department of Psychiatry's Adult Division Integrated Behavioral Health Service as well as the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Service at UCH. The health or rehabilitation psychologist recruited for this full-time position will become part of the Department of Psychiatry's growing and dynamic Adult Division. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below. :

+ _Post-doctoral fellowship focused on health psychology, rehabilitation psychology, consultation-liaison services and/or integrated behavioral health care in specialty settings such as Transplant, CL, medical trauma, or other complex in-patient units._
+ _Training and experience in Consultation Liaison services including inpatient behavioral medicine and/ integrated specialty care._
+ _Training and experience providing consultation, trauma informed care, assessment and brief individual and family interventions in inpatient medical/surgical, ICU and Transplant settings._
+ _Training and/or experience developing and implementing behavior care plans in inpatient medical/surgical settings. Experience with QI initiatives and metrics in inpatient medical and surgical units._
+ _Understanding of the biomedical, psychological, and social factors impacting patients at risk for and seen on inpatient units as well as Transplant programs. Experience with integrated teams in specialty medical settings that promotes an inclusive environment._
+ _Experience related to the impact of trauma, substance abuse and social determinants related to health, complex physical conditions, and recovery._
+ _Ability to perform cognitive screening and psychological testing specialty medical settings: A clinical neuropsychology fellowship not required._ **_Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:_**
