    POSITION: ADJUNCT PHLEBOTOMY INSTRUCTOR - Hall County Campus

    REPORTS TO: MEDICAL ASSISTING PROGRAM DIRECTOR

    SALARY: Targeted salary is paid in a lump sum based on contact hours

     

    EFFECTIVE: SPRING SEMESTER 2026: BEGINS January 12, 2026

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Adjunct faculty responsibilities are centered on preparing and teaching classes as assigned in Phlebotomy. Will direct student learning and assess student progress in achieving the requirements of the program in the appropriate learning domains. Classes will be taught in the classroom setting or hybrid. Will ensure that safety and security requirements are met in the training areas.

    MAJOR DUTIES:

    + Provide professional instruction based on approved course syllabus. Assures students attain the objectives of each course.

    + Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives.

    + Reports to and provides a periodic performance appraisal to the Program Director and/or college instructors.

    + Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.

    + Administers and grades class examinations within stated timelines.

    + Offer a positive professional attitude toward students and teaching.

    + Maintains classrooms and laboratories in accordance with approved classroom and lab management plans.

    + Maintains records of student grades and maintains student files.

    + Attends meetings, in-service training, workshops, and seminars as needed.

    + Observes and enforces the institution’s policies and regulations

    + Meets ALL required deadlines.

    + Completes ALL mandatory training.

    + Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Completion of an Associate's Degree in a medical field (Medical Assisting, Nursing, Allied Health) from a regionally accredited college or university, and three (3) years of work experience in a position related to Phlebotomy, i.e. RPT, RN, LPN, MA, etc. Must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned. Ability to work flexible hours as needed.

    COMPETENCIES:

    • Knowledge of course standards, and skill/expertise in subject area

    • Ability to understand, accept and follow directions

    • Skill in the operation of lab equipment and/or computers

    • Appropriate oral and written communication skills that effectively communicate information to students who might function at the new, beginning, or advanced level

    • Ability to perform lab competencies, maintain accurate records, prepare lesson materials

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel

    • Effective decision making and problem-solving skills

    • Flexibility to adjust work hours based on the needs of the college

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • The work is typically performed while standing or walking and/or sitting at a desk.

    • The work is typically performed in an applicable lab setting and/or classroom.

    • · In some program or course areas, physical demands may extend to physical movement and positions for extended time periods, including bending and lifting while standing or sitting.

    • Individual program physical demands are available from the appropriate Program Director.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum qualifications & competencies):

    • Previous work experience in tutoring or instruction of students in a post-secondary environment

    • Familiarity with Blackboard LMS

    Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
