    Position Overview

    We’re seeking a Collections Representative to join a dynamic team focused on delivering empathetic, member-first service in a fast-paced financial services environment. This role is ideal for someone with recent collections experience who thrives in a hybrid work setting and values both operational excellence and member satisfaction.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Act as the primary contact for inbound and outbound calls (approx. 115 total calls/day).

    + Use an outbound dialer system to manage call volume efficiently.

    + Handle member inquiries related to payments, arrangements, and account support.

    + Spend ~80% of time on phone-based interactions and ~20% on administrative tasks.

    + Provide compassionate service, understanding individual member circumstances to encourage retention.

    + Perform various collections-related duties:

    + Document management and uploads

    + Sending notices and communications

    + Reviewing account work

    + Preparing accounts for repositioning

    + Facilitating online banking transactions

    Required Skills & Experience

    Must Have:

    + Collections experience within the last 2 years

    + Financial services industry

    + Stable work history

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills

    + Computer proficiency

    Preferred:

    + Experience with Symitar (core system)

    + Familiarity with Akcelerant / Temenos / Life Cycle systems

    Work Environment & Schedule

    + Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

    + Location: Onsite at Vernon Hills HQ during training; hybrid schedule afterward (Tues–Thurs onsite, Mon & Fri remote)

    + Training Includes:Credit union overview and customer approach

    + Systems training

    + Phone training starting in week 2

    Performance Metrics

    + Calls per hour

    + Amount collected per hour (minimum $500/hour)

    + Promises to pay and follow-through

    + Quality of member interactions

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $19.23 - $28.84/hr.
