The Senior Research Assistant performs a variety of standard clinical testing procedures independently in a clinical laboratory or similar setting. This position supports multidisciplinary teamwork in patient care, quality control, and the use of laboratory instruments to produce analytical data from patient specimens.
*The ideal candidate will have some knowledge or experience of Immunotherapy in a research setting.*
*Key Responsibilities*
*Clinical & Technical Duties:*
* Perform a range of waived clinical tests and protocol procedures independently.
* Prepare complex slide and specimen setups for testing.
* Mix and prepare reagents, sterile supplies, and slide stains.
* Cut and grind tissue samples for analysis.
* Evaluate, accession, and process cases or specimens.
* Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment according to established protocols.
* Generate manifests for reference testing and manage inventory.
*Research & Collaboration:*
* Assist in developing novel ex vivo expansion strategies and treatments for cord blood-derived hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells.
* Maintain and document the mice colony database.
* Collaborate with other departments and external institutions on clinical research projects.
* Apply sterile techniques and Universal Precautions when handling potentially biohazardous clinical samples.
* Stay informed on relevant scientific literature and contribute ideas to improve laboratory techniques.
*Administrative Duties:*
* Assist with laboratory supply ordering.
* Maintain and manage inventory of cell line catalogues stored in liquid nitrogen tanks.
Other duties as assigned.

*EDUCATION*
*Required*: Bachelor's Degree Natural sciences or related field.
*Preferred*: Master's Degree Basic sciences of Medical Degree
*WORK EXPERIENCE*
Required: 3 years Scientific or experimental research work experience. With preferred degree, 1 year of experience
