The Project Manager will oversee the research operations of the Institute for Quantum Information and Science, supporting faculty who manage multiple large scale grants from both private foundations and federal agencies. These grants often involve complex reporting and administrative requirements. In this role, the Project Manager will develop strategic recruitment plans for research personnel and serve as a liaison between the institute and key administrative offices, including Sponsored Programs, Sponsored Accounting, and NSF program officers. The position also provides comprehensive administrative support to faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and research assistants.

Additional responsibilities include creating and executing communications strategies to promote the institute’s research activities to private foundations and federal agencies. The Project Manager will manage budgets and financial projections for a range of grants, from single investigator awards to multi principal investigator and multi-institutional collaborations, and coordinate with principal investigators at partner institutions to ensure smooth collaboration and compliance. The role requires proactive and independent management of award reporting for both federal and private sponsors, as well as oversight of procurement processes including equipment purchases, travel arrangements, and other research related expenses. The Project Manager will also be responsible for managing the calendar and scheduling for the institute’s directors.
