BluePearl Pet Hospital in Brandon, Fl is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced Avian and Exotic department.

**Pay:** $20 - $40 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.

**Schedule:** 4 x 9 hour shifts, Tuesdays- Friday.

As an A&E Veterinary Technician, you are a liaison between our clinician and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will be assisting with surgical, ultrasound, ICU and outpatient procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x rays, and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.

As an A&E Veterinary Technician, you will...

+ Set up constant rate infusions (CRI). Place IV catheters, perform phlebotomy.

+ Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).

+ Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia

+ Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.

+ Set up and assist with surgical, intensive care and outpatient procedures.

+ Discharge patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as giving injections, SQ fluids, and husbandry guidance.

+ Additional job duties as assigned.
