Description of Work Unit

Position Summary
The Black/African American Cultural Center is open to all students and serves as a resource for the university and surrounding communities by cultivating student development, uplifting cultural celebration, and facilitating African Diasporic Education initiatives for anyone interested in connecting with Black/African diasporic experiences. As part of our commitment to access and opportunity, we strive to broaden all students’ understanding of the history, heritage, and traditions that are unique to the African diaspora and encourage all students to participate in our activities.
Position Minimum Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or GED required.
+ Two years of general clerical experience.
+ Ability to manage high volume of email/phone communication and details with multiple campus partners.
+ Able to work independently with little direction and as a team member.
+ Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills.
+ Maintain confidentiality of files, documents, student information etc.
+ Computing experience such as Microsoft Office Suites including Outlook, web navigation, and internet applications.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience working with Colorado State University systems and processes, such as Kuali, Oracle, and TMS .
+ Experience working with budget and account reconciliation.
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with campus departments
+ General knowledge of campus resources and support systems (B/ AACC will provide additional training on campus resources).

+ Manage office space reservation process.
+ Manage departmental email.
+ Co-coordinate improvements to the physical office space.

+ Co-manage logistical aspects of event planning, including room reservations, supply procurement, and other administrative tasks.
+ Administrative support for operations and programming.
+ Support additional B/ AACC programming efforts, including heritage month celebrations, leadership development initiatives, and community-building events.
+ Track budget related to events.
