    Job Description:

    We are currently looking for a Foreman Signals I – Light Rail – Riverline to join our team!

    Summary:

    The Foreman Signals I is responsible for overseeing the signaling systems within the organization. Works closely with the Asst Supt. LRT Signals & Comms to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of the signal and other ancillary systems. This includes the engineering design, construction, repair and maintenance of signal equipment, such as track circuitry, interlockings, grade crossings and PTC support. Coordinates with other departments to ensure effective communication and signal transmission throughout the organization. Additionally, they may be involved in developing and implementing new technologies and systems to improve system efficiency and reliability.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    + Directs all in-house signal design and maintenance, and provides cost effective methods which ensures safe, reliable, and efficient Light Rail service.

    + Reviews and comments on design and specifications for the construction of Communication and Signal capital projects and infrastructure improvements and programs.

    + Represents the Infrastructure Engineering Department and River Line at meetings, presentations, public hearings and Board meetings.

    + Directs the management of departmental needs, including all personnel related matters. Provides direction to subordinates and establishes safety guidelines for work practices and procedures.

    + Establishes standards for signal design, construction and maintenance. Ensures standardized inventory, improved reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction by improving performance of the operation.

    + Directs and assigns the preparation, review and approval of various technical project reports, status reports, Board items, cost estimates, procurement submissions and departmental policies and procedures.

    + Directs and coordinates all activities within the Signals Department.

    + Responsible for Signal School Staffing

    + Responsible for all Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) certification requirements

    This Position Supervises:

    + Light Rail Electronics Technicians (12)

    Education, Experience and Qualifications:

    + High School Diploma or equivalent

    + Six (6) years of experience in the design, construction and/or maintenance of Light Rail infrastructure – with an emphasis in Light Rail Communications and Signals, to include a minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory role.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    + Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English. Solid negotiation, customer service, time management and decision-making skills are required.

    + Ability to work in a team environment.

    + Excellent skills utilizing PC systems and MS Office (or similar) applications; Dimensions (Timekeeping), VMIS/Trapeze, SCADA, , EPS (discipline system) and Oracle.

    Working Environment:

    + This position may require service to be performed outside normal business hours.

    Physical Demands:

    + Typical office environment and must be capable of light hiking for field visits.
