Custom Job Purpose:
This Educational Evaluator, K-12 participates on regional assessment teams in the Learning Support division. This position provides educational evaluations and re- evaluations to students in grades K through 72. Educational evaluators work with students, parents, teachers a11d other school/district staff to assist with meeting state and federal evaluation 1-equirements for students with disabilities under ESE and/or Section 504.
Essential Functions of this Job
Collaborates with other district evaluators to complete initial evaluations and re- evaluations for students with disabilities in a timely manner. Complies with state and district timelines for all work activities. Actively participates in Student Support Team (SST) meetings and other meetings as requested at assigned schools. Interviews students, teachers and parents regarding student's educational performance, history, challenges, concerns and aspirations. Completes academic screenings and other assessments to identify student strengths and weaknesses. Administers sensory screenings, formal and informal tests, and standardized measures to assess learning proficiency in multiple areas.
Provides written input in multi-disciplinary evaluation reports, including recommendations** **and** **goals** **focused on** **improving student performance.** **May** **attend** **eligibility meetings** **and** **other staffings** **with** **students,** **parents,** **educational** **staff** **and** **other** **to** **explain** **assessment results** **and** **assist** **in** **developing** **interventions** **or** **other** **supports.** **Consults** **with** **classroom teachers** **to** **provide** **assistance with** **intervention implementation and** **progress** **monitoring procedures** **for** **students** **in** **the** **ESE** **evaluation process.** **Provides** **outstanding customer service when interacting with students, families, schools and** **agencies.

Planning & Organization: Prioritizes and plans work activities in order to meet state and district timelines. Uses time effectively. Integrates changes smoothly. Works in an organized manner. Maintains accurate records. Prepared and punctual for all work activities.
Ability and desire to work collaboratively with students, families, teachers, counselors, school social workers, school psychologists, ESE personnel and administrators.
Demonstrates respect for students and families in all situations.
Education, Experience and/or Certification/License Requirements
Bachelor's degree in education, psychology or other related field. FLDOE Certification or a statement of eligibility is required. Three (3) years of classroom/school experience is required. Five (5) years of classroom/school experience is preferred.
Work Context:
Requires sitting and standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, computers, **and** **digital compliance and communication** **platforms.** Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires face-to-face discussions and
contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires work with both internal and external contacts, and with the public. Travel between multiple district locations is necessary.
Physical Environment:
Requires standing, walking, sitting, carrying, keyboarding, talking, hearing, near acuity and field of vision. Requires the ability to lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds. Requires use of both dominant and non-dominant hand. Some overhead lifting occasionally. Noise intensity- 3, moderate.
