Job Summary
The department of Health Promotions encourages applications for the AOD (Alcohol and Other Drug) Early Intervention Educator role! This role is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students (BASICS), Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral to Treatment (SBIRT), Alcohol Skills Training Program (ASTP), and Alcohol Impact Circle (AIC) in the office of Health Promotion. These interventions are developed to serve students that have shown risky behavior around drug use. This role will work with the team in scheduling AOD Early Intervention sessions, conducting group and one-on-one sessions with students, providing documentation of student course completion and maintaining communication with staff regarding any programmatic needs or challenges.

Who We Are
Health Promotion provides outreach and education on a variety of health topics. We support students in learning skills to make informed decisions about their health to help them succeed while in school and beyond. Health Promotion collaborates with student groups and campus departments in providing programs and services that positively influence student health. Our workshops can be requested by student groups, residence halls and other campus organizations.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
**Individual Sessions** - Conduct one-on-one sessions with students using motivational interviewing techniques. Some sessions include reviewing BASICS feedback with students. Sessions include:
+ SBIRT (Level 2)
+ BASICS (Level 3)
+ iCHAMP (Level 3)
+ BASICS+ (Level 4)
+ iCHAMP+ (Level 4)
+ Nicotine Coaching
+ Exploring Substance Use Workshop
**Records and Data Management** - Update and verify student completion/attendance within the IMPACT Feedback online system. **Group Sessions** - Facilitate small group sessions, general alcohol and other drug information and assist students in completion of the IMPACT Feedback intake survey. Group sessions include:
+ Alcohol Impact Circle (AIC)
+ Alcohol Skills Training Program (ASTP)
**Scheduling, Meetings, and Professional Development** - With Health Promotion staff, builds weekly schedule of classes and complete debrief of sessions. Attend necessary trainings and meetings.
What You Should Know
This is a temporary, on-call position. The hours vary week to week based on demand for mandated AOD Early Intervention sessions. Weekly hours are not to exceed 20 hours per week. Work will occur during regular business hours, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. This position will not work on holidays or scheduled breaks (fall break, winter break, spring break, or summer break). We anticipate this position lasting through the academic school year.
What We Can Offer
The hourly pay range for this position is $23.03 - $28.80.

What We Require
+ B.A. or B.S. in psychology, health promotion, social work or related field.
What You Will Need

+ Training can be provided upon employment.
