Job Title: Foundry Assistant
Job Description
As a Foundry Assistant, you will assist the Casting Manager and take on responsibility in their absence. You will plan, direct, and coordinate work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, cost, delivery, and environmental standards. You will be responsible for approximately 75 people across all three shifts.
Responsibilities
+ Direct and coordinate production, processing, and daily functions for the foundry.
+ Develop budgets and approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring efficient use to meet production targets.
+ Review processing and production schedules to make decisions concerning inventory, staffing, work procedures, and duty assignments.
+ Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
+ Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personnel grievances.
+ Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems to detect production problems.
+ Recommend procedures for facility and equipment maintenance or modification to support production needs.
+ Direct and coordinate activities of departments concerned with production, providing future direction for personnel in support of company goals.
+ Manage staff, prepare work schedules, and assign specific duties.
+ Review sales and activity reports to measure productivity and goal achievement, and determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
+ Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures.
+ Oversee activities directly related to making products or providing services.
+ Coordinate the organization's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.
+ Manage the movement of goods into and out of the foundry to maintain accurate inventory.
+ Plan and direct activities such as promotions and coordinate with other department heads.
Essential Skills
+ 6-8 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ 2+ years of foundry experience.
+ 2+ years of automotive experience.
+ Project coordination skills.
+ Knowledge in preparing molds, casting processes, furnace operations, mold preparation, melting, and finishing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in a non-union, multi-craft environment is beneficial.
+ Ability to work with a Tier 1 automotive manufacturer.

Work Environment
You will be supporting the casting side at a Tier 1 automotive manufacturer, supplying brake rotors to a major customer. The work environment is non-union and multi-craft, providing a collaborative and diverse atmosphere.

This is a Permanent position based out of Coldwater, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
