Job Description
This large transportation company is searching for a Lead Data Engineer to join our Data Analytics team. The successful candidate will work with the Data Analytics teams to develop and maintain data pipelines in both Azure utilizing Databricks, Python and SQL. Pipelines built will support a high availability system utilized by rail customers in North America. The engineer should have extensive experience in data mining and transformation and be confident in data engineering best practices and coding strategies. This client uses the latest technology stacks, currently both AWS and Azure cloud environments. The work will consist of. Working with data engineers to facilitate technical design of complex data sourcing, transformation and aggregation logic, ensuring business analytics requirements are met. The role will be 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. Must be available to interview in Person in Dallas, TX.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Information Management, or related field; Masters preferred
5+ years relevant experience or 3+ years with Masters
Databricks experience building data pipelines and workflows is a must
Advanced skills in Spark, SQL, python
Technical expertise regarding data models, database design/Development, data mining and other segmentation techniques
Experience coding with a team utilizing repositories and multiple coding environments
Experience working with IOT and/or geospatial data in a cloud environment (Azure)
Responsible for data ingress into storage
Must possess effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
Experience with data conversion, interface and report development
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
Process improvement and automation a plus
Work with management to prioritize business and information needs Databricks Data Engineering certifications
