Job Summary
The University of Michigan Department of Pediatrics, Division of Adolescent Medicine is seeking a BC/BE Adolescent Medicine Physician to join our faculty on the clinical track. Candidates should have broad training in all areas of adolescent medicine and be experienced in providing clinical care to adolescents with complex medical and mental health needs. Additionally, candidates should have experience and skills in working with patients, learners, and colleagues from numerous backgrounds.
The Division currently provides outpatient consultative clinical care for adolescents with a wide variety of healthcare needs, including eating disorders, chronic illness care, depression, anxiety, substance use, dysautonomia, and reproductive health issues. Other specific multidisciplinary programs run by the division include the University of Michigan Comprehensive Eating Disorders Program and the Child & Adolescent Gender Services Program. The division works closely with the University of Michigan's Adolescent Health Initiative with our shared missions of promoting public health, advocacy, and education programs for youth. Division members also work within school-based health centers through the Regional Alliance for Healthy Schools. The Division of Adolescent Medicine includes 8 Adolescent Medicine Faculty Physicians, and colleagues in the fields of Psychiatry, Psychology, Dietetics, Nursing, Social Work, and other disciplines. Teaching is a key component of the position involving medical students, resident, and fellow level trainees. The Adolescent Medicine fellowship program was founded in 2019 and is the only program in the state of Michigan. Opportunities for participation in clinical research and quality improvement projects are abundant. Academic rank on the clinical track is open, commensurate with experience.

The downtown has a pleasant small-city atmosphere with local restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. Nearby wooded neighborhoods offer excellent housing. The University of Michigan, C.S. Mott Children's Hospital opened in 2011. The hospital features a 12-story inpatient tower and nine-story clinic tower, a dedicated pediatric emergency department, an on-site Ronald McDonald House, and private rooms. The hospital also offers a home for specialty services not offered anywhere else in Michigan for newborns, children, adolescents, young adults, and pregnant women.

Required Qualifications*
The ideal candidate will have an MD or DO degree. Applicants must be board-certified or board-eligible in Adolescent Medicine. Applicants will hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the State of Michigan. Evidence of excellence in clinical care and clinical and/or didactic teaching is expected.
