Overview

Shift: PRN(as needed)

Utilizing the FOCUS values , coordinates and implements physical activity/exercise rehab care of patients within the cardiac / pulmonary rehab program under the direction of the Department Manager . Performs work of considerable difficulty . Represents UPH Trinity Medical Center and works to improve the health of the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

+ Responsible for exercise prescription and progression of patients in program Responsible for safe exercise programming Assist with evaluation and discharge of patients Assist with patient education.

+ Reviews patient health history and adjusts initial exercise prescription/plan.

+ Collects initial preprogram outcomes information.

+ Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.

+ Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.

+ Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.

+ Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.

+ Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.

+ Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse.

+ Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, Human performance, or equivalent . Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in rehab setting, internship, or clinical setting preferred.

License(s)/Certifi c ation(s): Must maintain current CPR Certification. CCRP, CEP, ACSM exercise specialist preferred. ACLS certification
