    Description of Duties:

    This is a grant funded position. -Perform cell culture of various cell types, including human tumor cells and their corresponding non-transformed counterparts. -Conduct flow cytometry analysis using antibodies targeting surface expressed MDM-2 protein on cells. -Perform western blotting on cellular extracts, including the isolation and analysis of membrane protein fractions. -Utilize confocal microscopy to analyze tumor and non-transformed cells expressing surface-bound MDM-2. -Generate and analyze RNA expression libraries from cancer and normal cells to identify splice variants of MDM-2.

    Qualifications:

    REQUIRED: The candidate must have a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology with research experience in cancer biology, molecular genetics, and cell-based assays. PREFERRED: The candidate should be familiar with techniques in molecular biology including cell culture, cloning, DNA/RNA sequencing, protein isolation and characterization, western blotting, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, and live-cell imaging to study surface proteins such as MDM-2. In addition, the candidate should be able to manage multi-project portfolios.
