Job Summary:
The Department of Education of West Texas A&M University invites applications for the position of an Assistant Professor of Educational Psychology for the Spring semester of 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with other teacher educators and teach Educational Psychology courses and other teacher preparation coursework through both face-to-face and web-based delivery systems. Other professional job requirements include maintaining an active research and publication agenda, participating in departmental, college, and/or university committees and professional organizations, and other duties as assigned.
Work Performed:
This is a full-time, 9-month tenure-track faculty position. The successful candidate will teach a 3-3 course load of 9 credit hours per semester and be available for teaching in the summer as needed. The teaching load will consist of teaching Educational Psychology courses to prepare future educators. Other responsibilities include advising Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) graduate students, maintaining an active research agenda resulting in peer-reviewed publications, participating in departmental, college, and university service, and other duties as assigned.
Necessary Qualifications:
+ Earned doctoral degree in Educational Psychology
+ Minimum of three years of teaching experience in Grades EC-12
+ Hold a valid educator licensure or certification
+ Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and teacher candidates.
+ Evidence of scholarly productivity, such as peer-reviewed journal articles, conference presentations, or book chapters
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience in teaching both face-to-face and web-based delivery systems
+ Knowledge of Texas teacher certification and testing requirements
+ Experience with advising students at the undergraduate or graduate level
