Data Scientist
Seeking a highly skilled and mission-driven Data Scientist to support modernization efforts, enhance operational efficiency, and improve data-driven decision-making across multiple government Cybersecurity Operations divisions. This role will contribute to the development and implementation of innovative data solutions, support security initiatives, and manage key platforms such as Salesforce to ensure effective communication and access control.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in data science, machine learning, and visualization, along with experience in federal environments and a strong understanding of HHS-specific operational and security requirements.
Responsibilities:
+ Data Science & Analytics
+ Identify and streamline outdated processes, introducing innovative technologies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
+ Collect, clean, and transform data from multiple sources to ensure quality and readiness for analysis.
+ Apply statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to uncover trends, correlations, and anomalies.
+ Develop predictive models and recommendation systems to support strategic planning and operational improvements.
+ Create dashboards, charts, and visualizations to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
+ Provide regular analysis of metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of security initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
+ Salesforce & Notification Management
+ Manage the Salesforce platform, including the development, tracking, and optimization of notifications.
+ Design notification content based on data calls and operational requirements.
+ Track responses from operational divisions and develop performance metrics for reporting.
+ Manage user access and permissions within Salesforce and other platforms to prevent unauthorized access.
+ Graphics & Communication Design
+ Design visual components and systems to support the Chief Security Office (CSO) and other HHS operational units.
+ Ensure that data-driven communications are visually engaging and aligned with HHS branding and messaging standards.
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
+ Demonstrated experience in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
+ Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
+ Experience with Salesforce platform administration and notification management.
+ Familiarity with user access control and data security best practices.
+ Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
+ Experience in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Canva) for visual communication.
+ Top Secret
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Prior experience supporting federal agencies, especially HHS or similar health-focused organizations.
+ Understanding of HHS-specific regulations, including IT security and data governance policies.
+ Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and secure data environments
+ Knowledge of HHSAR 352.239-71 and related accreditation requirements.
