    Job Title: VDC Specialist (Hydronic Piping)

     

    We are seeking a VDC Specialist to join our expanding hydronic piping team. This role is part of a growing department with a strong history of internal development and expansion across six states. The team is expected to grow by approximately 300 employees in the next year, offering significant opportunities for advancement and leadership.

    Position Summary

    The VDC Specialist will collaborate with Preconstruction, Project Managers, VDC/BIM, Field, and Manufacturing teams to optimize material and fabrication strategies for efficient project execution. This role involves transforming piping drawings into precise 3D models using Revit, ensuring constructability and alignment with field conditions. The specialist will also mentor staff on trade-specific methods and contribute to continuous improvement across the department.

    Responsibilities

    + Convert piping drawings into accurate 3D models using Revit

    + Lead quality control reviews of VDC/BIM and fabrication drawings

    + Collaborate with field teams to document best practices and material preferences

    + Review contract drawings for design intent and constructability prior to VDC/BIM kickoff

    + Evaluate prefabrication, packaging, and delivery strategies

    + Ensure compliance with production schedules, budgets, and efficiency standards

    + Facilitate team training on safety, technical tasks, and company processes

    + Provide leadership to achieve high standards in quality, safety, and productivity

    + Apply field knowledge to enhance model performance and real-world application

    + Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    + Minimum 4 years of experience in VDC piping, preferably hydronic systems

    + Proficiency in Revit and VDC modeling

    + Strong understanding of drafting and design techniques

    + Experience with Navisworks

    + Familiarity with project plans, scope, schedules, specifications, and budgets

    + College degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

    + Experience in data centers, hospitals, or residential projects is a plus

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $50.00/hr.
