State of Idaho Opportunity Technical Records Specialist (TEMPORARY) - Admin Office Full-time (40 hours) - $20 - $22 per hour D.O.E.
The Idaho State Public Defender (SPD) is a newly created state agency which provides trial representation to indigent criminal defendants pursuant to Idaho Code §§ 19-6005, 19-6009 (effective 10/1/24). The SPD is responsible for all indigent defense cases throughout the State of Idaho, including both juveniles and adults. The SPD values its employees and offers meaningful work that has a direct impact on citizens across the state.
POSITION & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Technical Records Specialist plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the State Public Defender’s Office. This position is responsible for entering and maintaining accurate case information, reviewing court records, and preparing documents for submission. It requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and professionalism when handling sensitive information. The role also involves frequent collaboration with internal stakeholders and contributes to the efficient and organized management of case records. Familiarity with criminal court procedures is strongly preferred.
This is a 5-month temporary, non-benefitted position that reports to the Operations Director for SPD functions .
Example of Duties
+ Enter case information into the case management system (CMS) according to CMS guidelines in a variety of criminal and mental commitments.
+ Reviews, evaluates, and processes court records.
+ Maintain a computerized records system; performs related work.
+ Prepare and compile necessary documents for completeness before submission.
+ Perform complex records management tasks, ensuring accurate documentation.
+ Maintain a high level of public relations and customer service skills in frequent interactions with internal stakeholders.
+ Maintaining confidentiality of client information and adhering to ethical standards.
+ Familiarity with criminal court procedures, rules, and regulations is strongly preferred; and
+ Other administrative tasks and projects assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ Experience monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors.
+ Researching and reviewing criminal court cases; and
+ Entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Excellent time management skills.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

+ Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (with 1 hour lunch break)
