Join our team as a Digital Communications Engineer, where you will have the opportunity to work on revolutionary systems that impact people's lives around the globe. As part of the Systems Engineering Integration Test (SEIT) department, you will be instrumental in developing the next generation of communications and signal processing systems in a collaborative and empowering environment.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct research, design, and development for digital designs associated with multi-function software-defined radios and automated test equipment.
+ Test proposed designs using evaluation boards.
+ Support the implementation of digital FPGA hardware architecture and algorithms.
+ Collaborate with Systems Engineering to ensure firmware design meets system-level requirements.
+ Review designs and perform analysis.
+ Drive complex technical problems to closure.
+ Lead product delivery efforts.
+ Possibly lead a team of technical engineers.
Essential Skills
+ 12 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer, or related Engineering discipline with a specialty in Digital Communications; or 10 years with a Master's; or 8 years with a PhD.
+ Experience in the design and development of digital communications systems, including modulation, signal receiver design, noise processes, detection, equalization, coding, synchronization, and multi-access communications.
+ Experience in link budget development, modeling, and testing.
+ Proficiency in Matlab and Simulink modeling of digital communication systems and algorithms.
+ Hands-on experience in Digital Communications within the last 3 years.
+ Experience leading teams through product implementation or demonstration.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Optimization of Matlab or Simulink code generated HDL and porting to FPGAs or ASICs.
+ Experience in open air and/or flight testing of advanced communication systems.
+ Active/Current DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI.
+ Experience with military waveforms.
+ Waveform algorithm design and decomposition.
+ Waveform ASIC development.
Work Environment
This position is located on-site in our Emerging Capabilities Development group in San Diego, CA. The work shift is 1st Shift 9/80A, with potential travel up to 10% of the time. Our advanced digital engineering group operates in a fast-paced team environment, fostering continuous learning and a culture of automation. The facility is conveniently located just minutes from the beach, offering a collaborative, open, and team-oriented atmosphere.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $100.00/hr.
