Job Title: Environmental Lab Technician
Job Description
The Environmental Lab Technician will be responsible for receiving and logging samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), preserving samples with acid, managing consumable inventory such as bottles, COCs, labels, and shipping materials. The role involves placing orders for chemicals and supplies, peer reviewing data entry, supporting customers with filling container orders, coordinating subcontract analysis, and contacting customers as needed to ensure accuracy and clarity with requested analysis. The position also requires assisting laboratory analysts as needed. Candidates must be detail-oriented, self-directed, and possess strong organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities
+ Receive and log samples into LIMS.
+ Preserve samples with acid.
+ Manage consumable inventory, including bottles, COCs, labels, and shipping materials.
+ Place orders for chemicals and supplies.
+ Peer review data entry.
+ Support customers with filling container orders.
+ Coordinate subcontract analysis.
+ Contact customers to ensure analysis accuracy and clarity.
+ Assist laboratory analysts as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Degree in Chemistry or related field.
+ Experience in sample receiving preferred.
+ Desire to transition from sample receiving to lab technician.
+ Environmental laboratory experience desired.
+ Prior work experience in chemistry, environmental science, or biology is ideal.
Work Environment
This is an on-site position located in the basement where samples are received from shipping companies. The role is not a typical white coat position, and the work involves handling sample reception.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
