Now Hiring : Analytical Services Laboratory Technician
Job Description
Join a dynamic team where you will perform routine testing on various samples within the Analytical Services laboratory. Your work will provide essential analytical data for process and quality control, process and product development, and waste management. This role involves preparing and analyzing numerous samples using sophisticated analytical equipment and techniques.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct routine testing on all samples in the laboratory for process control, quality control, product development, and waste management.
+ Prepare and analyze samples using a variety of physical and chemical analytical techniques.
+ Operate and maintain sophisticated analytical equipment, including pH meters, densitometers, spectrophotometers, and HPLC among others.
+ Perform microbiological tests to determine spore counts and contamination levels.
+ Utilize STARLiMS Laboratory Information Management System and Waters Empower for data acquisition and analysis.
+ Search databases for test methods, specifications, and standards needed for analyses.
+ Record, calculate, and report analytical results promptly and accurately.
+ Complete daily instrument calibrations and inspections while adhering to safety and housekeeping practices.
+ Serve as a Safety Officer when required.
+ Maintain laboratory supplies, prepare solutions, clean glassware, and manage waste disposal.
+ Train others in waste management procedures.
+ Review analytical data and LIMS reports, and communicate any issues with team members and supervisors.
+ Diagnose instrument problems and assist others in troubleshooting.
+ Multi-task and prioritize workload to optimize laboratory efficiency and productivity.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC)
+ Strong foundation in Chemistry
+ Proficiency in laboratory practices and quality control
+ 4-6 years of laboratory experience or a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School diploma with relevant experience
+ Knowledge of GMP and laboratory safety protocols
+ Attention to detail and ability to analyze outcomes against standards
+ Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Work Environment
This is a night shift position, with working hours from 10:00pm to 6:00am. The role requires adherence to safety and housekeeping practices within a laboratory setting. The work involves using various sophisticated analytical instruments and software systems.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Muscatine, Iowa
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
