    Join our dynamic team as a Mechanical Design Engineer, where you will be at the forefront of designing and producing detailed part drawings for mechanical assemblies of street sweepers. This role requires hands-on involvement in checking dimensions and ensuring that designs conform to drawing standards. You will be instrumental in identifying and resolving any design-related issues during the manufacturing process.

    Responsibilities

    + Create and produce part drawings for mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks, focusing on sheet metal components.

    + Conduct on-site measurements to ensure designs meet specifications and conform to drawing standards.

    + Identify and troubleshoot design issues during the manufacturing process.

    + Collaborate closely with the manufacturing team to ensure design efficacy and functionality.

    + Design mechanical parts including bearings, races, cylinders, part casings, and basic body parts.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in SolidWorks for mechanical design.

    + Strong understanding of sheet metal design and engineering principles.

    + Ability to conduct precise measurements and ensure design accuracy.

    + Experience with mechanical engineering and product design.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

    + Minimum of 1 year of experience in mechanical design or a related field.

    + Experience working with heavy industrial equipment, mobile vehicles, agriculture machinery, or heavy trucks.

    + Previous experience with street sweepers or sewer systems is a plus.

    Work Environment

    The work environment offers a blend of engineering lab and manufacturing floor settings. You will not be confined to a desk; instead, you will actively engage on the manufacturing floor, taking measurements and observing machine operations. The engineering design lab is collaborative and feedback-driven, encouraging open communication and teamwork. Flexible working hours are available, with the plant opening as early as 4:00 AM. A typical workday spans from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with opportunities for overtime.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of HUNTSVILLE, AL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
