Job Title: Site Reliability EngineerJob Description

Join our team as a Site Reliability Engineer where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our systems. Collaborate with developers and operations teams to implement cost-effective solutions that enhance our infrastructure and support our applications.

Responsibilities

+ Design and implement reliable and scalable systems using Kubernetes, Docker, and Istio.

+ Proactively identify performance improvements in responsiveness, availability, and scalability.

+ Monitor system performance and respond to incidents using Datadog for observability.

+ Develop automation scripts for deployment and monitoring.

+ Utilize GitOps for seamless software production deployment.

+ Collaborate with development teams to resolve reliability issues.

+ Conduct load testing for new products and updates to existing products.

+ Implement A/B deployments, canary deployments, and traffic mirroring strategies.

+ Utilize Helm charts for application deployment and manage AWS Load Balancers, EKS, and routing.

+ Ensure cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality customer experience and availability.

+ Participate in on-call rotations and support production systems.

+ Contribute to team documentation and knowledge sharing.

+ Implement best practices for system reliability.

Essential Skills

+ 2+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a related field.

+ Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Istio.

+ Basic knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools such as Datadog, AppDynamics, ELK, or Prometheus.

+ Experience with Horizontal Pod Autoscalers (HPAs) for resource optimization.

+ Understanding of Argo CD for GitOps practices.

+ Familiarity with A/B, Canary, Blue/Green deployments, and traffic mirroring techniques.

+ Experience with scripting and orchestration tools like Terraform or Ansible.

+ Awareness of cost management in cloud environments.

+ Advanced problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.

+ Ability to learn and apply new technologies and methods.

+ Capability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Proficiency in Golang or Rust is a plus.

+ Organized and detail-oriented.

+ Ability to develop healthy working relationships and collaborate with peers and leaders.

+ Exhibits integrity and high standards in work quality.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Plano, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
