Description
The assembly technician will be responsible for assembly of various components that are fabricated and machined (Craft) , specializing in naval ships and submarines. Assembly technician will work with limited supervision using drawings and procedures to build and test components. Assembly technician should be someone with detail oriented, self-motivated, and dependable. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude and can work through issues during assembly by using the drawings to make the assembly fit and function correctly. Knowledge of basic tools and machining equipment is required

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Assemble mechanical components using hand/power tools and machining equipment (mostly manual)
- Read and interpert blueprints, diagrams and work instructions (especially NNS prints)
- Inspect parts and finished assemblies for accuracy and quality
- Perform basic testing and troubleshooting of completed assemblies (air tests, hydros, function tests)
- maintain a clean and organized work space
- follow safety procedures and company standards
- report production issues or defective materials to the supervisors
- document assembly activities and update records as required
- Some welding as needed
- Comfortable working on their own

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
