    Job Title: Automation Maintenance Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician with extensive experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC machines. You will be tasked with the electrical maintenance of automation machine tools, working across a variety of CNC equipment including mills, lathes, machining centers, and robotics. Your expertise will extend to handling equipment such as P&H cranes/hoists, conveyors, furnaces, large part washers, ABB robots, and CNC machine tools. Additionally, you will repair CNC and PLC equipment with controllers from brands like Fanuc, Siemens, and Modicon. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing AC/DC analog and digital drives, sensors, cables, wiring, drive faults, encoders, and 480V systems. You will connect a laptop to machines to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues. A Maintenance Management System (MMS) will be used to generate work orders, and you will log all maintenance performed using a company-provided computer/tablet. You will prioritize machinery repairs based on the value stream of the equipment.

    Responsibilities

    + Diagnose and repair CNC machines and automation equipment.

    + Perform electrical maintenance on CNC mills, lathes, machining centers, and robotics.

    + Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC analog and digital drives, sensors, cables, wiring, drive faults, encoders, and 480V systems.

    + Connect laptops to machines for diagnosing and troubleshooting issues.

    + Use a Maintenance Management System (MMS) to generate work orders.

    + Log all maintenance performed using a company-provided computer/tablet.

    + Prioritize machinery repairs based on the value stream of the equipment.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficient in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of CNC machines.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

    + Expertise in PLC, relay logic, and schematic automation.

    + Experience with electrical maintenance, wiring, and latter logic.

    + Ability to troubleshoot PLC controls by going online and editing latter logic.

    + Experience with electrical troubleshooting through HMI.

    + Familiarity with control systems such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell, and Fanuc.

    + AC/DC power experience.

    + Knowledge of Glass Scale Linear Encoders.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Certified Electrician.

    + Associate Degree in Industrial Automation.

    Work Environment

     

    The position is based in a climate-controlled, clean manufacturing facility with a machine shop production environment. Work shifts are off-shift, with two positions on the 2nd shift (3:30 PM - 11:30 PM) and two on the 3rd shift (11:30 PM - 7:30 AM). During the initial training period of 2-4 weeks, candidates can expect to work 40 hours a week on a day shift until they are up to speed, after which they will move to their assigned shift. Candidates must be open to both shifts.

    This is a Contract position based out of Lafayette, Indiana.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $45.00/hr.
