    Job Description

    The Lead Lathe Machinist works in close collaboration with the Production Manager to oversee workloads and machining priorities specific to the lathe team. This role provides daily guidance, mentorship, and technical training to lathe machinists. The Lead Lathe Machinist uses strong problem-solving skills to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and departmental goals are consistently met. Alongside leadership responsibilities, this position requires active contribution as a hands-on machinist, utilizing advanced lathe programming, setup, and machining techniques to produce high-precision parts. Success in this role hinges on clear communication, strong technical expertise, and the ability to foster a collaborative work environment.

    Responsibilities

    + Oversee and manage workloads and machining priorities for the lathe team.

    + Provide daily guidance, mentorship, and technical training to lathe machinists.

    + Apply strong problem-solving skills to meet production schedules and quality standards.

    + Actively contribute as a hands-on machinist using advanced lathe programming and machining techniques.

    + Ensure departmental goals are consistently met.

    + Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in lathe operation and machining.

    + Experience with Mastercam, programming, and blueprint reading.

    + Skills in CNC programming and CNC lathe setup and operation.

    + Ability to program parts and perform mastercam programming.

    + Experience in manual machining and Solidworks.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Proficiency in 2D and 3D programming.

    + Experience with CNC lathe, surfcam, or mastercam.

    Work Environment

     

    Work a 1st shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, in a very clean and organized shop. The environment is temperature-controlled to ensure comfort and efficiency.

    The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.
