    Job Title: Machine Operator

    Job Description

    The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating various machines including band saws and hand-held grinders. The role involves setting up and operating these machines, reading prints, and cutting materials according to specified dimensions. The candidate will also help with other machinery tasks, work with different gauges of sheet metal to meet customer demands, and work directly from blueprints. Additionally, the role requires performing inspections of machined parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate various machines including band saws and hand-held grinders.

    + Set up and operate machines according to specifications.

    + Read and interpret blueprints for machining tasks.

    + Cut materials to specified dimensions.

    + Assist with other machinery tasks as needed.

    + Work with different gauges of sheet metal to meet customer demands.

    + Inspect machined parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in machine operation.

    + Experience in heavy manufacturing and metals.

    + Ability to read blueprints.

    + Strong writing, reading, and communication skills.

    + Proficiency in reading rulers.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + No high school diploma or GED required.

    Work Environment

     

    This is a first shift position with hours from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Employees are trained on the first shift starting at 7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, with potential adjustments after the probationary period. The work environment includes a dynamic and supportive team that operates in a leading global inspection and certification company.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Melrose Park, Illinois.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
