    Job Title: Forklift Operator and Material Handler

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator and Material Handler to join our team at a new manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will operate a Toyota sit-down forklift, moving pallets and large reels, and will play a critical role as part of a small initial team preparing the site for operation.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist warehouse and materials area with loading and unloading.

    + Move inventory and materials throughout the facility, parking lot, and all offsite warehouses.

    + Ensure trailer chocks are available and in place.

    + Sort, organize, and store inventory in assigned locations.

    + Ensure customers’ trailers are loaded timely with correct finished goods.

    + Ensure printed labels match finished goods produced.

    + Work with Warehouse Coordinator to identify and print missed or incorrect labels.

    + Ensure shipping documents match per customer.

    + Rework and rewrap pallets as required.

    + Operate a floor sweeper when assigned.

    + Become certified and operate a variety of forklifts.

    + Complete other duties as assigned by management.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with forklift operation and material handling.

    + Ability to operate a pallet jack and RF scanner.

    + Proficiency in sit-down forklift operation.

    + Capable of standing, stooping, reaching, grasping, and lifting up to 50 lbs. safely.

    + Adherence to safety policies and use of personal protective equipment.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 1-3 years of experience in warehousing/manufacturing, plastics industry experience is a plus.

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Good math skills.

    + Ability to read, understand and follow written and oral communications.

    + Strong time management, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

    + Keen attention to detail.

    Work Environment

     

    This is a non-climate controlled plant environment with standard hazards where safety precautions and personal protective equipment must be maintained at all times. Hearing protection is required in all material areas. Work is required on most holidays and weekends as needed.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Haltom City, Texas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
