A Day in Your Life at MKS
As a State and Local Tax Manager (SALT) at MKS, you will partner with the Global Tax Reporting team to manage all aspects of state and local tax compliance and provision. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of state and local income, franchise, sales/use, property, and other indirect taxes. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally to ensure compliance and identify tax-saving opportunities. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager, Global Tax Reporting.
You Will Make an Impact By:
+ Oversee preparation and review of state and local income/franchise tax returns, sales/use tax filings, and property tax filings.
+ Oversee outside tax compliance provider to ensure state tax returns are completed and filed on time.
+ Support ASC 740 reporting for state and local tax provisions, including deferred tax calculations and uncertain tax positions.
+ Manage and defend state tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
+ Identify and lead SALT process improvement initiatives to optimize tax positions and reduce risk.
+ Manage tax technology solutions and software to streamline operations.
+ Provide guidance and mentorship to tax staff.
+ Oversee reconciliation of tax accounts on the general ledger.
Skills You Bring:
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ 5+ years of job-related work experience
+ Strong proficiency in Excel
Preferred Skills:
+ Master’s degree
+ CPA certification
+ Experience in Onesource Tax Provision, Hyperion Financial Management, Oracle and SAP
This position is HYBRID based out of our Corporate Headquarters in Andover, MA. Candidate must be within commutable driving distance. Relocation benefits are not available for this position.
