    Who we’re looking for

     

    Toyota’s Paint Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Paint Engineer - Sustainment.

     

    The primary responsibility of this role is to manage projects and support daily operations in the Paint Department, with a focus on planning and execution of projects from cradle to grave under tight time constraints. Position will be responsible for planning and executing paint shop sustainment and corrective action projects.

     

    Reporting to the Paint Manager, the person in this role will support the Paint Department's objective to maintain operations, improve shop performance, and prepare line 2/3 paint for future painting process changes.

    What you’ll be doing

    + Project Management: (projects related to betterment of obsolete/outdated equipment, repair in place projects, replacement projects)

    + Working in Team Environment

    + Quality, Cost, Safety and Productivity Enhancement

    + Environmental compliance with regards to existing equipment and new projects

    + Daily and Weekly Reporting

    + Preparing Ringi documents

    + Contributing to budget preparation

    + Purchasing tasks to pursue contractor opportunities

    + Working with outside vendors and suppliers

    + Schedule coordination for project support and weekend work

    + Weekend/holiday work support required (working on weekends)

    + Shutdown work and coordination required on site (working and support)

    + Daily overtime

    + Working with TEMA and other NAMC’s for benchmarking

    + Drawing reviews

    + Travel 5-10% possible

    + Position will be responsible for planning and executing paint shop sustainment and corrective action projects.

    What You Bring

    + Bachelor’s degree or higher, or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent professional experience in an automotive manufacturing environment

    + At least 3 years of hands-on experience in automotive paint within a manufacturing setting

    + Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

    + Intermediate skills in Microsoft Project, including the ability to create, read, and interpret project schedules

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Teams

    + Flexible availability to accommodate varying work schedules

    + Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive problem-solving mindset

    Added bonus if you have

    + Fabrication experience in an industrial setting

    + Project management experience

    + Passed a Toyota TBP panel
