Job Summary

The **Vice President, Cyber Business Line** is responsible for the organization, management, and business performance of Battelle’s cyber business portfolio. The VP will drive innovation and operational excellence in cybersecurity research, solutions, and services.

The Cyber Business Line at Battelle delivers advanced solutions and services to address the evolving challenges of cybersecurity across government, defense, and commercial sectors. Our multidisciplinary teams provide expertise in hardware/software vulnerability research, reverse engineering capabilities, radio-frequency engineering, microelectronics trust and assurance, intelligence solutions, architecture, advisory services, and platform solutions. We develop and deploy innovative technologies to protect critical infrastructure, enable secure communications, and defend against emerging cyber threats. The Cyber Business Line is committed to expanding capabilities and maintaining Battelle’s reputation as a trusted leader in the cyber domain.

Responsibilities

+ Lead the development and execution of strategic and operational business plans, defining market focus, growth expectations, and operational objectives for the Cyber Business Line.

+ Manage the overall financial performance of the business, including achieving revenue, net income, and intellectual property goals, while maximizing profitability, cost control, and investment decisions; oversee resource expenditures for staff, capital equipment, marketing, and internal R&D budgets.

+ Plan, integrate, and market group capabilities and services to align with client needs and interests; establish and maintain key client relationships to cultivate leads and maximize business potential.

+ Oversee business development efforts, including relationship development with senior government and commercial clients, and manage sales, proposals, and bid/no-bid decision processes; establish pricing policy and practices.

+ Drive effective project management to ensure all projects are scoped, expensed, and delivered as planned in line with client expectations.

+ Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction through delivery of projects that meet or exceed requirements for cost, schedule, and performance; monitor client satisfaction and take corrective action as needed.

+ Perform manpower planning and assure appropriate staffing levels and skill mix; manage recruiting, hiring, performance goals, and career development opportunities; provide training and mentoring for staff.

+ Ensure staff conduct research, development, and technical activities within established business ethics, safety, and quality policies and procedures; review and approve proposals, reports, and articles as necessary.

+ Integrate Battelle capabilities and services across businesses to address client interests, translating client needs and future direction into mutual business relationships.

+ Work across Battelle market sectors, global businesses, and national laboratories to ensure continuity and coordination in business development, client management, program management, and opportunity expansion; plan effective teaming arrangements and monitor results.

Key Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related technical field.

+ 15+ years of progressive experience with past responsibility for $50M+ in annual revenue and 100+ staff, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ Demonstrated experience in successful business development in federal and commercial cyber markets, thorough knowledge of the industry.

+ Proven track record of year-over-year business growth and high staff retention.

+ Experience in capture and proposal management, and ability to mentor staff in those areas.

+ Exceptional communication skills to interact with top management, client organizations, subcontractors, consultants, and staff.

+ Demonstrated ability to lead others in the achievement of goals.

+ Capable of traveling up to 50%

+ Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD TS/SCI clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, or related technical field and/or a Master of Business Administration.
