    CTG is seeking to fill an Accountant opening for our client in Houston, TX.

     

    **Location:** Houston, TX

    **Duration:** 6 months

    Overview:

    The Accountant will support accounting activities, projects, and analysis for an assigned business area. Responsibilities include managing operational accounting controls, reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing financial and regulatory reports, and driving process improvements. This role also participates in cross-functional projects and ensures compliance with company standards and GAAP.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Support monthly general ledger close, variance analysis, and reporting.

    + Prepare reconciliations, review account documentation, and resolve variances.

    + Lead or assist with accounting process improvements and integrations.

    + Create and test accounting system requirements and updates.

    + Conduct technical accounting research and present findings to management.

    + Participate in special projects and ensure compliance with policies and controls.

    + Maintain internal control standards and address audit findings.

    Scope of Responsibilities:

    Works independently and collaboratively with internal partners, auditors, and other stakeholders.

    Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

    None

    Education and Experience Required:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and 2+ years of accounting, audit, or financial institution experience **OR** a combination of 6 years of higher education/work experience including 2+ years in accounting, audit, or financial institution work

    + Experience in the Equipment Finance Industry

    + Strong GAAP knowledge and reconciliation/reporting skills

    + Proficiency in Excel, general ledger, and loan systems

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    Education and Experience Preferred:

    + MBA and/or CPA certification

    + 2+ years of bank operations accounting experience

     

    Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
