**The Epic Hospital Billing (HB) Analyst** plays a critical role in optimizing the performance of the hospital billing functions within the Epic application suite, with a focus around behavioral health. This individual is responsible for the implementation/build, maintenance, and enhancement of the Epic Hospital Billing module to ensure accurate and efficient revenue cycle operations.
The analyst collaborates closely with revenue cycle teams, IT professionals, clinical departments, and leadership to configure solutions, troubleshoot issues, and streamline processes that support financial sustainability and patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
+ **Epic System Support & Optimization**
+ Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Epic Hospital Billing and associated workflows.
+ Analyze, design, build, test, and implement system configurations and enhancements.
+ Collaborate with end users to understand operational needs and translate them into technical requirements.
+ Identify and implement system improvements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and improve financial performance.
+ Ensure timely resolution of system issues, service requests, and incident tickets.
+ **Project Management**
+ Participate in or lead projects related to Epic HB implementations, upgrades, and optimization efforts.
+ Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure deliverables align with project timelines and organizational goals.
+ **Data Analysis & Reporting**
+ Develop and run queries and reports to analyze billing trends, identify discrepancies, and support decision-making.
+ Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to claims processing, denials, collections, and reimbursements.
+ **Training & Documentation**
+ Provide training and support to end-users, including billing staff and revenue cycle leadership.
+ Create and maintain documentation of system configurations, workflows, and procedures.
+ **Compliance & Best Practices**
+ Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, CMS guidelines, and other healthcare billing standards.
+ Stay current on Epic updates, industry trends, and revenue cycle best practices.
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Business, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
+ 5+ years of hands-on experience with Epic Hospital Billing (HB) module.
+ Strong understanding of hospital revenue cycle processes, billing, coding, claims, and reimbursement; with a previous focus on behavioral health.
Certifications:
+ Epic Hospital Billing Certification required Additional Epic certifications (e.g., Single Billing Office, Claims, Resolute PB) are a plus.
Skills:
+ Proficiency in Epic HB configuration, workflows, and troubleshooting.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of SQL, Clarity/Caboodle reporting, or similar tools is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $135,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
