Matheny Medical and Educational Center is a special hospital for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities Matheny's mission is to provide exceptional care and an optimal quality of life for children and adults with special needs and medically complex developmental disabilities. Matheny has a career opportunity available for aChief Nursing Officer.
The Chief Nursing Officer serves as the nurse executive of Matheny and directs the Patient Care Services Department which encompasses care delivery by registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, direct support professionals and respiratory therapists. The CNO directs the nursing services for the organization by establishing guidelines for the delivery of nursing care, treatment and services and implementing nursing policies and procedures, standards and staffing plans for ensuring safe high quality clinical care.
Job Duties:
+ Establishes guidelines and standards for the delivery of safe, effective, high quality nursing care, treatment, and services in compliance with all NJ and Federal law and regulations.
+ Coordinates the continuous delivery of quality nursing care, treatment, and services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week at Matheny.
+ Coordinates the development of hospital-wide programs, policies, and procedures pertaining to the assessment and evaluation of patients.
+ Participates in meetings with other senior clinical and management staff.
+ Participates in the Medical Executive Committee.
+ Participates in the planning and implementation of the budget in order to meet projected health services needs for the hospital.
+ Works with the hospital’s governing body, senior leadership, medical staff, and other clinical leaders in clinical decision-making processes.
+ Implements an effective, ongoing program to measure, analyze, and continuously improve the quality and safety of nursing care, treatment and services and respiratory therapy treatment and services.
+ Responsible for ensuring that Nursing, Direct Support Professionals and Respiratory Therapy comply with The Joint Commission accreditation standards, CMS Conditions of Participation regulations and NJ Department of Health regulations and are continuously survey ready.
+ Performs all related duties as assigned.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a team member’s base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
The salary range for this position is $154,000 - $176,000 annually.

Position Requirements
Qualifications/Education:
Masters Degree in Nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university OR a written plan to achieve this degree in the near future is required. Demonstration of the knowledge and skills associated with an advanced nursing degree and appropriate experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
Previous progressive management experience in long term care hospital setting or in rehabilitation hospital nursing is required.
Demonstrated nursing experience with the developmentally disabled pediatric and adult populations is required.
Licensure/Certifications:
Must be licensed in New Jersey as a Registered Professional Nurse. License verification is required via NJ Division of Consumer Affairs.
Current CPR/AED Healthcare Certification required.
