Join the Louisiana Department of Health’s Office of Management and Finance as aBudget Administrator 1. In this vital role, you will assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of complex budgetsthat support critical health initiatives statewide. You’ll collaborate with multiple program areas to monitor expenditures, support fiscal planning, and help optimize resource allocation for Louisiana’s health programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Eight years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus five years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus five years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
An advanced degree in business administration, accounting, finance, public administration, or statistics plus four years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Develops and manages complex budgetsfor assigned program offices, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and compliance with state and federal regulations.
+ Analyzes and reviews budget submissions,recommending adjustments or revisions as needed to support fiscal efficiency and program effectiveness.
+ Provides financial analysis and fiscal impact statementsto assist executive leadership and the Division of Administration in statewide budget planning and decision-making.
+ Monitors and evaluates budget implementation, ensuringadherence to established standards, policies, and funding allocations.
+ Collaborates with agency leadership and program staffto identify cost-effective strategies, forecast funding needs, and address budget overages or shortfalls.
+ Trains and supports agency personnelin budget preparation, financial tracking systems, and the consistent application of budgetary procedures.
