Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies is recruiting for a Senior Manager, Software Engineering within our Robotics & Digital Solutions organization. The location for this position is located in **Santa Clara, CA** .

Overview:
The Sr. Manger, Software Engineering plays a key role in leading the development of software in three key areas: infrastructure, connectivity, and security. This individual will understand our software from a technical perspective and our product’s viewpoint, guiding their team in the design and development of the applications and tools that ultimately enable surgeons. We are setting a new industry benchmark for robotic surgical capability. We are looking for a candidate who can lead, mentor, and motivate their team to successful software delivery. The candidate is flexible, self-motivated, curious and passionate about revolutionizing the world of medical robotics and software.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Build, lead, and mentor a team of hardworking engineers focused on providing software supporting multiple surgical robotics products
+ Contribute to the software architecture design to enable future enhancements and iterative releases
+ Collaborate with partner organizations to identify and drive technical and process improvements with the goal of improving developer and user efficiency
+ Engage with internal and external partners from both business and technical perspectives
+ Support C++ and Python software development, facilitate design discussions, and support software development best practices
+ Identify, manage and mitigate technical and project risk through coordination with teams in R&D and external collaborators
+ Coach and mentor software engineering managers, and promote broader team development
+ Managing teams developing software under IEC 62304 and FDA guidance documents
+ Provide technical leadership in multiple areas, including middleware and communications, software security, and cloud integration
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience:
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
+ 5+ years of experience leading software engineering teams.
+ 10+ years of professional experience developing software products.
+ Strong understanding of software design principles, architecture, and cloud integration.
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
+ Proven leadership and collaboration skills, including success working with distributed and cross-functional teams meeting or exceed project goals.
+ Experience working in a regulated environment, ensuring compliance with ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, or similar regulatory standards.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience:
+ Experience delivering software for medical devices.
+ Proficiency with cloud integrations.
+ Proven experience developing C++ applications for multi-target environments (real-time and non-real-time Linux).
+ Experience working in an Agile development environment.
+ Experience with IEC 62304 (medical device software development).
Other Requirements:
+ The location for this position is Santa Clara, CA and may require up to 10% travel.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $168,000.00 to $271,400.00
