    CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN** **– CIVIL ELECTRIC

     

    The **Construction** **Foreman** oversees daily construction operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications. The Foreman also performs hands-on labor when needed. This leadership role requires strong problem-solving, crew management, and safety enforcement skills in physically demanding, outdoor environments.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    + Lead field crews of 5–20 workers on underground electrical utility and civil infrastructure projects

    + execute construction plans and specifications for electrical and civil systems

    + Plan daily work activities, assign resources, and drive crews to meet aggressive project schedules

    + Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, utility representatives, and subcontractors

    + Oversee and operate heavy equipment such as excavators, trenchers, and backhoes

    + Support crew by operating equipment and doing labor as needed

    + Secure work site to ensure public safety and safety of equipment and materials

    + Pre-survey job location and ensure utility locates have been performed

    + Enforce and monitor compliance with OSHA trench safety and shoring standards

    + Apply tabulated data (TAB data) to select appropriate protective systems based on soil classification and trench depth

    + Identify and mitigate hazards associated with excavation and confined space

    + Mentor and train junior crew members, promoting skill development and adherence to safety protocols

    + Complete accurate daily reports, time sheets, and safety documentation using digital tools

    + Maintain strong verbal and written communication with teams, supervisors, and external partners

    + Ensure readiness and safe operation of company-provided equipment

    + Adapt to variable schedules, including night work, weekends, and overtime

    + Perform miscellaneous duties assigned

    KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

    + High school Diploma or equivalent

    + Valid Driver’s License

    + 2+ years’ experience in underground electrical utility or civil infrastructure

    + DOT Medical Card – If driving company vehicle

    + Able to read construction plans and operate heavy equipment

    + Strong knowledge of trench safety, OSHA compliance, and hazard mitigation

    + Proven leadership managing crews and coordinating with project partners

    + Computer Skills

    + The physical activity and work environment for this role includes:

    + Work outdoors for extended periods

    + Travel as needed

    + Exposure to a range of weather conditions, including hot and cold weather

    + Walking on uneven and variable terrain for long periods

    + Sitting for extended periods in an office environment

    + Frequently standing, walking, stooping, climbing, bending and reaching overhead in an outdoors environment

    + Lift heavy loads, up to 50 lbs.

    + Exposure to loud noise level in the work environment

    + Manual dexterity for computer use, files and office equipment

    + Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
