We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Power System Electrical Engineer with a record of accomplishment in supporting renewables, data center and substation projects. This position can be in the Houston, Dallas, or Austin offices.
The opportunity
+ Performs and reviews engineering power engineering studies and calculations including short circuit, load flow, reactive compensation sizing, cable ampacity, arc flash study, harmonic study, insulation coordination, protection coordination, grounding, battery sizing study and auxiliary system sizing.
+ Size major electrical equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, switches, inverters, generators, capacitor banks, reactors, surge arrestors, switchgear, current transformers, cables and UPS systems.
+ Perform protective relay coordination, settings, and configuration.
+ Perform engineering calculations using PSSE, ETAP, SKM, Easy Power, PSCAD, Mathcad Prime or equivalent tools.
The skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
+ Minimum of 8 years of related work experience.
+ Advanced knowledge of renewable energy systems including onshore wind, PV solar, and BESS, and data center electrical systems.
+ Hands on experience with power studies software like PSSE, ETAP, SKM, Easy Power, PSCAD, Mathcad Prime or equivalent tools.
+ Demonstrated leadership experience in both project and discipline-level responsibilities.
+ Familiarity with IEEE standards for protection system, transformer, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, grounding, cables, and neutral grounding transformers.

**Houston Hiring Range** - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Houston is $140,000 to $160,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Houston will differ.
