The Role:

The Shop Technician Level 1 will inspect, evaluate, and repair submersible wastewater pumps at branch locations. This role involves both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, with product-specific training provided. The position may also include direct interaction with customers, requiring strong communication and service skills.

Core Responsibilities:

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

+ Perform evaluation, repair, and mechanical/electrical testing on submersible wastewater pumps.

+ Safely operate industrial shop equipment, including forklifts, overhead cranes, and related machinery.

+ Utilize a variety of company-provided hand and power tools with precision and care.

+ Accurately document work performed using Xylem’s work-order management system.

+ Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment while promoting a strong safety culture.

+ Protect and properly manage company tools, equipment, and property.

+ Contribute to a high-impact culture by demonstrating innovation, accountability, and empowerment.

+ Collaborate effectively in a team setting while also being capable of working independently under minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

+ High School Diploma or equivalent

+ 1+ years of technical work experience

+ Electrically and mechanically inclined

+ Demonstrates critical thinking and troubleshooting ability

+ Comprehend technical information and communicate it clearly

+ Experience with Microsoft Office and smart devices

The estimated pay range for this position is $26/hr. to $30/hr.. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location. At Xylem, we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefits package, including Medical, Dental, and Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.
