    Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

     

    The Technical Production Manager provides support all Versant operations in Washington, DC. This role will be responsible for managing the studio crew to execute shows, as well as day-to-day operations for Versant.

    Responsibilities:

    + Oversee Studio and Control room production, assuring performance standards

    + Work closely with scheduling to ensure proper crew assignments

    + Work closely with the News Desk, bookers and transmission to ensure successful execution of LIVE remotes into daily programming

    + Liaise with Versant operations & executive leadership

    + Oversee facilities, IT, and maintenance services for assigned control room and studio during On-air operations

    + Responsible for customer relationships within Versant brands. Must balance creative demands of various properties with outstanding operational management skills

    + Develop & motivate crews, creating standards and expectations for excellence in broadcasting

    + Execute business strategies and cost initiatives while maintaining day-to-day operations

    + Manage demands during breaking & unplanned news events

    + Implement unified operational strategy across Versant show units

    + Work in compliance with Integrity, Health and Safety Policies, and Vesant Standards and Practices

    + On occasion, plan and execute technical support for Versant remotes worldwide

    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in live, studio television production

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a News environment

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering support and operational experience in broadcast studio and production control room

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience with field/remote production processes and equipment (including

    satellite/telco and communications)

    • Must have proficient computer skills, including Apple, Outlook, MS Word, Excel

    • Experience in broadcast television

    • Strong on-air operations and technical background

    • Ability to work all shifts including days, overnights, weekends and holidays

    • Deep working knowledge with control room and studio technology

    • Demonstrated management experience and customer focused

    • Experienced in working with represented as well as non-represented staff

    • Excellent ability to manage multiple tasks and challenges at the same time

    • Excellent written and verbal communication

    • Ability to work within a budget
