About the Community Hub Activities Monitor Position

The Community Hub Activities Monitor plays a key role in supporting the safe, organized, and welcoming operation of PUSH Buffalo’s Community Engagement department programming, including but not limited to the Community Hub and Movement Leadership Institute (MLI).
This position is responsible for monitoring patrons, assisting with events and activities, maintaining cleanliness and orderliness, and ensuring all visitors follow established rules and procedures. They help ensure a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space for community members.
What You’ll Do
+ Greet and assist community members, program participants, and guests in a friendly and respectful way.
+ Answer questions, share info about events and programs, and connect visitors with the right staff or resources.
+ Monitor activities and engage with patrons to ensure everyone feels welcome and safe.
+ Help open and close the facility during program hours.
+ Set up and break down furniture, technology, and equipment for classes and events.
+ Maintain general cleanliness and organization throughout the space.
+ Maintain visitor logs, attendance sheets, and inventory checkouts.
+ Track use of supplies and materials, and support inventory management.
+ Monitor behavior and enforce community center guidelines using a calm and respectful approach.

+ Friendly, reliable, and community-minded.
+ Comfortable working with people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
+ High School Diploma or GED preferred.
+ Able to stay calm under pressure and respond to challenges with professionalism.
+ Organized and attentive to detail — you care about keeping things running smoothly.
+ Comfortable performing light physical work (e.g., moving tables, cleaning, walking around the building).
+ Bilingual or multilingual a plus!
+ Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and local residency (Buffalo area).
+ Able to work evenings or weekends
