This position contributes to the mission of Spurwink by ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting. The Financial Analyst is responsible for the financial reporting requirements of contractual agreements with Federal, State, private funders as well as assisting the Controller and wider Finance team with meeting shared goals, deadlines, and ensuring Agency financials are complete, accurate and prepared in accordance with US GAAP.
DUTIES:
+ Under supervision of the Controller or Assistant Controller, the incumbent prepares, reviews, and analyzes financial and statistical data.
+ May be responsible for the financial reporting and budgeting requirements of contractual agreements with Federal, State and Private funders.
+ Assist in the development of the yearly operational budget.
+ Meet with Program Directors monthly to review program financials. As part of these monthly meetings, the Financial Analyst will assist in preparing the Program Directors for their presentation of financials to the Senior Leadership Team on a quarterly basis.
+ Develop and maintain the technical skills necessary to utilize computer-supported information systems in all aspects of budgeting, third party payments, and financial reporting.
+ Develop standard operating procedures and job aids to document procedures and steps to ensure consistency, training, and organizational efficiency.
QUALIFICTIONS:
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or other appropriately, technical undergraduate degree with additional specialized training and/or applied knowledge in the areas of operational budgeting and variance analysis and financial statement preparation. A minimum of 4 years' experience in accounting, with a focus on healthcare or not for profit accounting. Understanding of Uniform Guidance and MAAP preferred. Experience in an office as well as a work-from home environment, abilities to prioritize multiple tasks effectively and timely.
