Our services include a state-of-the-art psychiatric urgent care center and a soon-to-be-built pediatric behavioral health center, outpatient, inpatient, partial hospitalization (day programs), assessment and testing, residential, addiction treatment and specialty services such as crisis response, employee assistance programs, forensic psychiatry and psychology, and neuromodulation. On-the-job educational programs for nurses, psychologists, advanced practice providers, psychiatrists, and chaplains are equipping the next generation of care providers.

    What Will You Do?As a Lead Registered Nurse at Pine Rest, you’ll be part of tight-knit team that believes in the healing power of your expertise and compassion. Responsible to uphold the healing ministry of Christ through relationships that honor integrity, stewardship, empowerment, the promotion of diversity and professional excellence. The Lead RN is responsible and accountable to lead and perform the nursing process as a basis for patient care. Provides direction and oversight to other licensed and non-licensed staff. The Lead RN shows compassion to recipients of services, coworkers, and surrounding communities through integrity, stewardship, empowerment, the promotion of diversity, and professional excellence.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Actively participates in performing duties in accordance with the organizational mission, acting as a role model for other staff.

    + Directs tasks of team/unit members, actively participating in such tasks.

    + Functions as a clinical leader, delegating/coordinating staff assignments and promoting staff development.

    + Acts as a lead in initiating and/or supporting performance improvement activities and customer service initiatives.

    + Monitors and recommends staffing needs for unit.

    + Assesses patient care needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and continually reassesses plan of care according to patient care needs.

    + In collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides/coordinates nursing care to individuals and groups of patients.

    + Assists in the teaching of patients’ families, and provides milieu management. Communicates with and educates patients’ families/significant others in discharge/after care planning needs.

    + Provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff in both individual and group settings.

    + Responsible for documenting, reporting and verifying all necessary information according to established policies and procedures.

    + Responsible to monitor for and report to the physician(s)/clinical service managers/nursing supervisor any potential risk to patient safety that could lead to an adverse outcome.

    + Creates a patient/visitor friendly environment by following quality improvement standards, maintaining professionalism, initiating and maintaining positive relationships with departments, co-workers and external customers.

    + Provides care in various clinical settings with diverse patient populations. Identifies specific patient needs and implements patient-centered, compassionate care.

    + Responsible for the utilization and continued review of patient care protocols, standards of practice, and standards of care. Gives input into process for improvement.

    + Utilizes and promotes careful use of resources.

    + Involved in training new staff.

     

    What Does This Role Require?

     

    Education/Experience:•Licensed to practice Nursing in the state of Michigan•Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.•1 year of nursing/psychiatric experience working in Pine Rest is required.•Satisfactory previous clinical experience.
