Overview
BigBear.ai are seeking a mission-driven Data Scientist to support full-spectrum analytic technical operations across the intelligence lifecycle. In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams to translate user needs into technical solutions, develop and evaluate models, and communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will apply advanced data science, data analytics, and visualization techniques to uncover patterns, trends, and actionable intelligence that support national security objectives.
What you will do
+ Apply data science and data analytics techniques to extract insights from structured and unstructured data using tools such as Python, R Studio, and Jupyter Notebooks
+ Perform data cleaning, wrangling, and exploration data analysis (EDA) using Python libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, seaborn) to prepare datasets for modeling and visualization
+ Develop and evaluate machine learning models, ensuring accuracy, interpretability, and alignment with mission objectives
+ Create compelling data visualizations and infographics using tools like matplotlib, seaborn, or Plotly to communicate complex findings clearly across a range of media platforms
+ Use GitLab for version control, collaboration, and code management in a team-based development environment
+ Translate user requirements into technical specifications and configure analytic environments to support mission needs
+ Identify and process raw data from multiple sources, integrating disparate datasets to support intelligence assessments and decision-making
+ Draft and document technical methodologies, participate in architectural reviews, and contribute to reusable analytic frameworks
+ Brief senior stakeholders and decision-makers on analytic findings, tailoring communications for both technical and non-technical audiences
+ Collaborate in an Agile software development environment using tools like Jira, contributing to iterative development cycles and innovation sprints
What you need to have
+ Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
+ Active TS/SCI clearance is required
+ 4–6+ years of experience in data science, data analytics, or related technical fields
+ Proficiency in Python and experience with Jupyter Notebooks for data exploration and modeling
+ Experience with data visualization tools and techniques to present insights clearly and effectively
+ Familiarity with GitLab for version control and collaborative development
+ Experience working in Agile development environments and using tools like Jira
+ Strong communication skills and ability to present complex findings to non-technical audiences
