Responsibilities
Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, is seeking a flexible Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA), or prescribing Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to be a part of the psychiatry hospital division multidisciplinary treatment team providing care to children, adolescents, and adults who require mental/behavioral health care. This highly professional clinician provides care to patients on the inpatient units as part of the orientation process with the goal of transitioning to the Psychiatry Emergency Services Unit after orientation. The NP/PA/CNS works closely with the consultant psychiatrist and the multidisciplinary team in clinical decision making and treatment planning. In this role, the NP/PA/CNS is one of several advanced practice providers in a supportive team environment.
The NP/PA/CNS professional responsibilities may include participating in daily inpatient psychiatric rounds, admission interview and physical examination, managing ongoing medical and psychiatric issues, assessing new health concerns, managing psychiatric and medical emergencies, working with consulting services in the work-up of developing medical issues and providing patients and families with education. After orientation plan to transition to the Psychiatric Emergency Department with expanded evening, weekend, and holiday hours.
Qualifications
**Nurse Practitioner:** Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current MN RN and APRN license and certification as an FNP, or ANP.
**Physician Assistant:** Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the MN State Board of Medical Practice.
**CNS Provider:** Master's degree with a major in nursing with a Clinical Nurse Specialist focus. Current RN license by applicable state requirements. Current APRN, CNS license by applicable state requirements.
This position requires DEA registration. BLS certification required.
New graduates are encouraged to apply.
Psychiatric specialty certification is preferred, but not required.

Schedule Details
During orientation: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. After orientation: 24/7 hours, 7 days per week anticipated with 8 to 12-hour shifts.
