    Job Title: 2nd shift Shear Operator

    Job Description

    The Shear Operator is responsible for producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. The role involves utilizing quality controls and safety standards, alongside preventive maintenance, to ensure the production of cost-effective products.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform daily preventive maintenance on machinery.

    + Conduct first part inspections and in-process quality checks.

    + Read and interpret blueprints for machining processes.

    + Operate shear press and other related machinery effectively.

    + Ensure adherence to production specifications and quality standards.

    Essential Skills

    + 2+ years of manufacturing experience in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment.

    + Proficiency in metalworking and hollow metal fabrication.

    + Ability to read and understand specification sheets, blueprints, and work orders.

    + Experience with sheet metal fabrication, saw operation, and press brake.

    + Skillful in using manufacturing equipment, basic power tools, and machinery.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in utilizing computer output from CAD/CAM systems.

    + Ability to layout and load materials using basic math and handheld measuring tools.

    + Capable of entering instructions, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.

    Work Environment

     

    The position is based in an industrial environment where the ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods is required. The role involves working with CNC machines and other manufacturing equipment.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fontana, California.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
