Job Title: Saw Operator / General Laborer / Forklift Operator

Job Description

This role begins with a comprehensive 2-3 day training period in the Shipping department to understand the daily operations. Post-training, you will transition to your designated position, which may include Saw Operating, General Labor, or Forklift Operating.

Responsibilities

+ Pull materials to place on the saw.

+ Work collaboratively in a team environment.

+ Read tape measures accurately.

+ Perform basic mathematical calculations.

+ Lift up to 50 lbs consistently.

+ Train and become certified on a forklift.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in using a tape measure.

+ Experience in general labor within a manufacturing setting.

+ Familiarity with steel manufacturing processes.

+ Forklift operating experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Previous manufacturing experience.

+ Material handling expertise.

+ Forklift certification is advantageous.

Work Environment

The work environment is clean and well-lit, promoting safety and efficiency. Expect to be on your feet for 8 hours a day, with a lot of lifting and repetitive tasks. The busiest period is between 2-5:30pm when shipments depart. The role offers two shifts: 1st Shift from 6am-2:30pm, and 2nd Shift, currently from 10am-5:30pm, with a goal to eventually shift to 1pm-9:30pm, Monday to Friday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Loves Park, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
