Job Title: Mill Operator
Job Description
As a Mill Operator, you will be responsible for overseeing the milling process in the production area. You will play a vital role in our Food Safety Management System by being aware of the importance and relevance of your activities and reporting any food safety and quality issues to personnel authorized to take action.
Responsibilities
+ Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by adhering to safety policies and procedures, such as wearing appropriate PPE and following GMPs.
+ Operate all mill equipment, regulate speed, heat, and coolant flow using the control panel for the mill equipment.
+ Detect and replace defective sifter screens by opening the sifter.
+ Prepare for product changeovers by reviewing orders, cleaning machines, and gathering necessary supplies.
+ Operate the corn cleaning system to clean corn.
+ Perform stops and starts in the production process as needed.
+ Prepare and verify all reports used in the area and record production information using SAP software.
+ Know the product specifications being run.
+ Communicate with the maceration operator to help control the process by proposing requirements and adjustments.
+ Participate in all jobs assigned by the supervisor.
+ Control product quality using information provided by Quality Assurance personnel.
+ Monitor and control flour inventories by taking silo measurements and directing production to the proper silo according to the production schedule.
+ Drive the forklift in the production area and other areas as needed.
+ Participate in cleaning equipment (internally and externally) by following cleaning master programs and procedures.
+ Adhere to food safety guidelines by following AIB standards.
+ Report machine malfunctions by communicating with the supervisor.
+ Use computers and understand software systems effectively to perform the job.
Essential Skills
+ 6 to 12 months previous experience in a similar position
+ 3 years manufacturing experience
+ Proficiency in math, including decimals, ratios, graphs, and percentages
+ Basic mechanical skills
+ Computer skills
+ Effective communication skills
+ Forklift experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 5 plus years of previous experience in manufacturing
+ Forklift experience of over 1 year
+ Secondary diploma/GED or equivalent

Work Environment
The work environment includes exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions due to inclement weather. Employees will also experience constant or intermittent sounds that may require hearing protection, as well as dusty areas. The position requires 12-hour shifts with day and night rotations, including a 3-day weekend off every other weekend. Day shifts run from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, and night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. Initially, candidates will train on a Monday to Friday day shift until deemed ready for the assigned shift rotation. Attire includes a provided purple hard hat, clean jeans, and a T-shirt appropriate for the weather, without holes, rips, tears, or offensive logos.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of EVANSVILLE, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.67 - $26.67/hr.
