    Job Title: Process Controls Design Engineer - REMOTE

    Job Description

As a Process Controls Design Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in designing and building advanced control systems for material handling and process equipment in the life sciences and chemical industries.

    Responsibilities

    + Collaborate with project managers to review and interpret user requirements.

    + Create detailed Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).

    + Select and specify instrumentation tailored to each unique system.

    + Design control panels for electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

    + Design electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.

    + Design equipment network architecture.

    + Perform other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering field.

    + 5+ years of relevant work experience designing control systems.

    + Familiarity with Allen Bradley Products.

    + Experience in designing electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

    + Experience in designing VFD and Motor control.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio).

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.

    + Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience and understanding of Hazardous Location requirements and protection methods.

    + Understanding of Electrical Standards (UL, NEC).

    + High standard of integrity and team-focused mindset.

    + Customer-service focused and self-motivated.

    + Superb communication skills and detail orientation.

    + Ability to see a project through from start to finish with excellent mechanical aptitude.

    Work Environment

    This position offers a remote work model. Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer are required, with the ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times. The role includes occasional travel (5%-10%) for factory acceptance testing.     Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position that is remote and with a company based out of Peoria, Illinois.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $62.00/hr.
